With her sextet, Britta Lieberknecht presents a dance and music performance in the Kalandersaal at the Zanders – Areal (formerly Zanders Paper Factory) in Bergisch Gladbach, drawing from the architecture and its atmosphere. Developed specifically for the listed preserved warehouse and its special acoustics, the performance features sounds with an almost four-second reverb. The two musicians, masters of their instruments and of improvisation, play together with four dancers who use their voices, movement sounds, and body percussion. The finest noises carry over long distances. Proximity and distance are important themes that Lieberknecht and her expressive team unfold in the roughly 55-meter-long old factory hall and its annex. In the antiquated industrial setting, they create a unique experience—sonically and visually.
